A concrete warehouse structure has the layout shown in Sheet No. 1. The details of Frame are hown in Sheet No. 2 alone with the supporting foundation. The idealized sketch of frames and the beams are shown in Sheet No. 3. The roof of the warehouse consists of solid slabs. The frames are free to sideway. Using these given information determine the design loads on frame 2 and the mid beam. Based on the calculated design load determine the following: CIV 316 Page 2 of 5 1- Show tributary areas for all beams on plan 2- Calculate the unfactored load (DL, LL) carried by Frame 1, 2, 3, 4. 3- Draw the frames with the loads (DL, LL, W). 4- Calculate the factored (DL, LL) on the long beam 1-2-3-4. 5- Draw the beam with the loads (DL, LL). 6- Using the slope deflection method, draw the bending moment and shear diagrams of the frames for: a. Dead load alone b. Live load alone c. Wind load alone 7- Using the values of the moment and shear in 6 and using the load combination (1.2 DL + 1.6 LL+ 0.8 W), draw the bending and shear diagrams in the frames for the combined (DL, LL, and W). 8- Using the slope deflection method and Moment Distribution, draw the bending moment and shear diagrams of the long beam (1,2,3,4) for: a. Dead load alone b. Live load alone c. Wind load alone 9- Compare the results between the two methods. 10- Using the values of the moment and shear in 6 and using the load combination (1.2 DL + 1.6 LL+ 0.8 W), draw the bending and shear diagrams in the beam for the combined (DL, LL, and W). 11- Specify the maximum design bending moment and shear in the beam. 12- Specify the maximum design bending moment and shear in frames. Part B: Resolve part A using structural analysis software (SAP 2000 or Etab) (and compare your results with those of Part A.
