Over the seven month period following her release from the hospital, Astrid's life had become still and smooth, but the town of Snow Hill had become a fiery ball of confusion and disbelief as everyone watched the news in fear of what had been uncovered each day. It's amazing how many evils can be committed in the shadows of darkness beneath an unassuming moon. It is even more amazing that there are survivors who bear witness to the unleashing of hell that had become so commonplace yet remained just out of sight for so very long. How many other victims were there? How many borderline dysfunctional souls owed the weight of their shortcomings and idiocracies to the cult in Snow Hill? Who knew. But the investigation went on even as they slept and it grew steadily over time to encompass two bordering towns and the entire Pokomoke Forest. No wonder there were so many ghostly stories circulating about those woods. It was probably due to the remnants of scarred psyches abandoned in the wilderness and burned in the cauldrons of the occult. One thing was for sure, there was no getting around the naked truth of that small town as the shroud of silence was torn through, raising the dust of past demons and awakening the community into a dark and sobering truth.
