Urgent Senior Accountant for Tax Reviews
$40-90 USD / hour

We are a small bookkeeping, advisory and tax company located in the Sea to Sky corridor. There is no shortage of work in this beautiful part of the world. We are at the stage where we need an autonomous, experienced tax professional to help our clients to file their taxes.
Main Responsibilities:
- Prepare T1, T2, T3, T4, T5 returns in TaxCycle with little oversight
- Advise team members and clients on Canadian tax strategy
- Maintain knowledge of Canadian tax laws
- Assist with client communication as needed
Other Responsibilities (could include):
- Prepare and maintain financial records, including general ledger accounts, financial statements, and other reports
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Perform bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial data
- Conduct account analysis and reconciliation to identify discrepancies or errors
- Assist with financial audits and provide necessary documentation and support
- Utilize accounting software (such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks) to record and track financial transactions
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field mandatory
- Chartered Professional Accountant designation an asset
- Proven experience as a Canadian Staff Accountant or similar role
- Experience in public practice an asset
- Strong knowledge of Canadian tax principles and practices
- Proficiency in using accounting software (TaxCycle, Netfile, QuickBooks, Xero)
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and analysis
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
