* Involves active and continuous interaction with customers from various Electronic Manufacturing companies.
Independent Project
Neural Network Based Strategies for Estimation of Placement Process Throughput in Electronic Assemblies
* Collected the placement process throughput data for various electronic products with different component mix.
* The data was pre-processed and was used to develop a multi-variate regression model for estimation of the placement process throughput.
* Analyzed various neural network architectures for modeling of the throughput data through a DOE-based approach and statistical analysis.
* A backpropagation neural network model was developed for quick and reasonably accurate estimation of component placement process throughput in the PCB assembly process.
Academic Projects
Daily Returns Forecasting for "Cisco Systems" stock using Neural Network Modeling
* Technical indicators and the data pertinent to the stock index of the company were collected and pre-processed to create a prediction model.
* The model was created and analyzed using Backpropagation and Radial Basis Function (RBF) paradigms using "NeuralWorks Professional Plus" software.
Flip Chip Assembly Advisor
* Developed a Decision Support System (DSS) to optimize the process parameters in flip chip assembly for maximum process yield.
* The software was developed in Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 using Genetic Algorithms (GAs) and Monte Carlo Simulation method.
Modeling of a Rental Car Services System
* Studied, modeled and simulated the inventory of cars and services in the "Avis Rental Car Company".
* The model was developed and simulated using "Arena" simulation software.
Solving Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP) using Genetic Algorithms (GAs)
* Solved the classical TSP for the shortest traveling time using GAs.
* Genetic Algorithm was compared with the Exhaustive search techniques for a 10-city TSP.
Implementation of Genetic Algorithms (GAs) for Flow Shop Scheduling Problems
* Optimized the sequence of jobs for various flow shop environments using GAs in C Language.
* Compared GAs with Complete Enumeration Techniques and proved that GAs are less CPU Hungry than Complete Enumeration Techniques for large number of jobs.
