Contest Brief

BlackTan is a snob-free, bridge-to-luxury leather goods brand - to be launched.

The name ‘BlackTan’ comes from the colors black and tan. Black and Tan are the most popular shades in leather – footwear, belts, wallets, hand bags, diaries, briefcases and laptop bags.

BlackTan will be marketed online and offline.

The immediate job is to design a logo style and mnemonic. The logo, or the mnemonic, or the logo + mnemonic will appear on all the leather articles made under the brand, BlackTan. Depending on the product and surface, it will be screen printed, or gold/silver foiled, or embossed and debossed. Hence, it has to be simple and classic, with a simpler mnemonic. It should be adaptable to very small surface to very large surface, as also in neutral color and B&W.

The logo should preferably be in the two colors - black and tan.

The task requires you to lay the shortlisted logo-mnemonic on the following elements - shoe insole [screen print and gold/silver foil], sole sole [de-boss or emboss], shoe box design [lid and bottom], shopping bag.

The awarded artist will be expected to submit ready-to-print artworks in the required format/s of the selected work.
