CCG Artwork Contest

Contest Brief

I am designing a CCG (collectible card game) and require an artist to work with me for an extended period of time (possibly several weeks) to create:
1. A unique and stylish CCG card template design (front and back).
2. Unique art for each card within the game.

If you win the contest, I will discuss with you, in great detail, all of my work and plans for this project. For now, all you need to know that it is a fantasy CCG that centres around creating and fighting custom monsters. For inspiration for the card design, I will attach some images of cards from other CCG's. For the template, do not worry about the specific statistics of the cards (for now) - design what feels right to you. Please include the letters 'MS' in the design of the template for the back of the card.

I am running this competition to find the perfect artist to help me design this CCG, which I plan on publishing upon completion.

For the competition, please submit a basic, but high quality/resolution TCG card template (back only) for a card that is to be 63 x 88 mm. Please also submit one or two card artworks in 720p resolution, that depict a unique character or item. Please look to the uploaded images attached to this page for some inspiration/guidance.

Some ideas for the subjects of these artworks are:
- A goblin's sword
- A beast's head
- A monster soul
- A ring
- A storm

I personally believe that a cartoonish art style will best suit this game, but any style of art will be accepted in this competition and all will be judged fairly (impress me with your skills in your chosen art style!). The budget for this competition is $40 AUD, and if you win, we can discuss an appropriate and fair payment system for the rest of the project. Thankyou and good luck!

Employer Feedback

“Tamzania is a fantastic freelancer artist/illustrator. For my contest, tamzania was fast and efficient, and his work was at a far higher standard than any of the other submissions. He was very cooperative, and was more than happy to edit his submission based on my critiques. He displays a very positive attitude to his work, and I can vouch for his effectiveness and skills as an artist. He would make a great asset to any project.”

Recently I design for university a CCG. Based in the Descent: Journey in to the dark
I need more information about the visual identity that you want. You want a dark game or more cartoon style more friendly?

I suppose a friendly, cartoonish style (but not necessarily aimed at children) would be more suitable for the aesthetic I have in mind. However, I also like the art style of tamzania, igordesic and unsoftmanbox's submissions to this contest - so, feel free to create whatever art style you think would suit a fantasy CCG about fun monster battles and such. :D
