Contest Brief

Coyote Spirit is about learning with all senses and about nature literacy. The idea is to get people outdoors, to get them reconnect with nature. Based on a holistic approach (a contemporary interpretation of "head, heart and hand"), the programme shall not only impart theoretical knowledge from different disciplines (sciences, arts, etc.) but also include experiential learning and address all senses, set in a natural framework.
Above all, it shall invite people to change perspective, collaborate with others, find creative solutions and develop their individual strengths - in short give them tools to tackle the challenges both in their personal life and in the society they live in. People are encouraged to explore and experience (hands-on) on their own, rather than just having filled their heads with information.
Coyote Spirit is not established yet, hence it is kind of a start-up. Right now, I'm on my own and looking for partners and/or customers. However, I'm driven by my passion for nature and by the conviction that we need to change our ways profoundly if we want to preserve our planet's beauty and carrying capacity.

Employer Feedback

“I really appreciated to work with Reinhard. During the contest stage, he contributed with design drafts according to the briefing, while still incorporating his own creativity and leaving his mark as a designer. Once chosen as the winner, he again provided sound work, made required adaptations, tested alternative solutions and even provided a few extra versions on request. Delivery was fast and straightforward. Improvements: final check on data in order to prevent "slips on the pen". Overall: Great job, would work again with Reinhard, anytime.”

Dear participants, thank you so much for all your creative and diverse proposals. I'm absolutely stunned by the many ways you can illustrate a coyote (or something else, come to that), even if in the end only a few would suit my purpose. For sure, you've made it difficult to choose.
I've got a few favorites, though. Please bear with me while I think it over. I'll try not not take more than a few days.

Let us be reminded about the use of stock images, be it in whole or in part unless permitted by the author so as to avoid legal issues in the future. Thanks, good luck everyone and God bless.

Re the illustration: please stick to simply the head of the coyote (not the whole animal) and no or only few additional elements.
Re the font: please work with the verbal part, too. Too many drafts are with a replaceable (and boring) font.

Thanks for all your drafts. #1-6 are too prissy. This is about the outdoors and about getting off the beaten track and not for a yoga institution (please take the time to read the briefing!). #7 is too cartoon-like. #8 -9 are closer to the idea. The words "Coyote" and "Spririt" can differ in font but should be weighted more or less equally.
