Contest Brief

We need an updated email newsletter showing our products from our website - we want it to be very modern looking - responsive - have pictures of our products with shop now or Design now buttons under them.

Here is our online store with categories
www.namebadge.com/store/

We want to put maybe 3 products from each of the main categories
Name Badges
Bling Badges
Chalkboard Badges
Desk and Wall Plates
Office Signs
Self Inking Stamps
Awards & Plaques
and that's it - those are the top categories

i have attached a copy of our current newsletter in PDF form to show you the quality and what we expect

our website is
www.namebadge.com
you can use any images from the website and ideas to add to the newsletter
we mainly make name badges - but we also do name plates, different types of badges etc.

we want it super clean and professional - something that you would get from a company like wayfair.com

we want it to look similar to our website as far as color schemes
we would need the actual HTML code along with all the images

And one more thing: when you use an image from another source you have to declare it here and to check the little box which says that Requires purchase or not if it's a free image (but you have to put the link of the source).

We all love your work Silvia - don't listen to the rest of them! It is a contest everyone so please remember their has to be a winner and a lot of people do not win - but Silvia put a lot of work in researching our company and nailed it. Its what we asked for its clean and has all the elements we were looking for.

And a short story that has taken place not long ago. In one contest I had a design with four stars and another contestant had a design with 5 stars. Mine wasn't so appealing like it was his design, I agree, but I know that I can code it ina way to look perfect on moble and everything was editable. So, I didn't want to make it with backgrounds, special fonts etc. because I knew that event if I win it'll not be practical and easy to be modified in the future by the employer. He won. Ok. After 6-7 days the employer retracted his prize and he asked me if I am able to code mine in a way to be perfect on mobile, Outlook etc. And I said yes. And everything was ok. So, it's not everything to have an extraordinary design. You have to keep in mind a lot of things when you design an email template.
To succeed in freelancing you have to use your energy in a good way. And you have to have nervs and patience :) Let's respect each other and have some peace in a world full of ... hate :) Good luck!

Hi everyone! It's also sad to see that some of us are throwing with words without thinking too much :) it's not fair to offend other freelancers. I know very well that frustration can reach high levels in the contests' world :) I've been there and I still am sometime.
Now you tell that your design it's better than others. Ok, I agree that your design may be more appealing and with extraordinary design elements. But when I am designing an email template (especially an email template) I have to find a compromise because I (and you) have to keep in mind that the template must be perfect on mobile, in Outlook (which doesn't recognize background images) and to be easy to update in the future by the employer.
So, it is not everything to look cool, it has to be practical too.

It is sad that you warded early, most of good designers submit their entries in the last hours. I am pretty sure that you would get much more professional designs. I suggest you not to close contest early. My design was going to be much better than these ones. Congratulations to the winner. And I hope this design will be good for the CH.

Judging by your taste, or lack thereof, perhaps you should make yourself clear on expectations. You stated you wanted high quality work yet 90% of the entries that actually had form and function were rejected and the entries which received high ratings could have been created by Word or someone in grade school.

Sometimes due to time constraints a DESIGNER needs to outsource creative assets and draw inspiration from other works to save on time. You could say the same thing about the website that you've chosen to direct everyone to in order to explain what you expected in terms of quality. The nametag industry is peanuts and uninteresting, which is why I fully understand the level of design that would be chosen for this type of project.
      Good luck.

FYI stock photos are almost always used in the industry to save on costs. High-end designers charge upwards of $75 per hour.

Which platform do you use for your email communications?

We use an HTML/CSS based platform - so you would HAVE to be capable of giving the entire design in html with inline css formatting along with all images and links. But you should be able to do that right?

Yes it was checked - was not what we are looking for - way to much blank space and just not something that "pops" as an email newsletter.
