Contest Brief

Red Pepper Online is an online academic bookshop and we are looking for a logo revamp.

We don't specifically want to use a pepper in our logo as we have done in the past. We are looking for a graphic representation relating to education/reading/books similar to the easily recognisable symbols such as Nike, Amazon, Apple etc, but possibly using something other than a red pepper (capsicum/ bell pepper, not a chilli). It must be clean and simple and uncluttered - something that a person could easily redraw with their hand as someone would if you said "Draw me the Nike symbol" - we don't want intricate.

We are very interested in a logo that uses "words as images" - examples are attached.

Our corporate colours are red and black and we are prepared to add a touch of green. We are also prepared to go fully black.

I have attached some examples of ideas we like, as well as our old logo.
