Contest Brief
Project Goal - What are we Trying to Convey
● To provide a single resource to teens for healthy lifestyle options (nutrition, physical, and
emotional health) as well as life skills (communication, “being cool”, leadership,
business, money). Additional future topic areas might become relevant. Therefore the logo should NOT appeal to any single subcategory but should be kept rather generic.
● Intelligent age appropriate content will speak to teens and their issues creating an
automatic “cool factor”. It will convey a feeling of intimate personal sharing of teens
helping and supporting others. Need to reflect our "The Ultimate Peer to Peer Network" tag line in attitude and feel.
● Unique factor: The website will be for teens by teen with adult experts to guide and support in the back.
Three Points will set this Website Apart
1. The peer-to-peer connection will be one of its strongest selling point
2. The positive upbeat look and content
3. The interactivity of communicating to each other through blogs. Target demographics:
Teens ages 13 to 22, Generation Z
Content the Logo should Support
● We like colors blue purple green yellow. The logo should contain a subset of these colors. We are concerned about the logo looking too busy with all of them, but maybe a good design can convince us otherwise.
● The logo needs to appeal to both genders.
● Teen differ from adult because you have to change the activities more often to keep
things interesting. A logo should reflect this sense of ever present change and fluidity
● Pop culture is still mainstream for most teenagers.
● It cannot be too childish but not confuse younger children.
Logo Imagery
● Logo should project a positive inspirational welcoming feeling targeting a fully engaged and fulfilled lifestyle with a sense of discovery
● Logo should feel playful, connected, upbeat and intelligent
● Logo should connect the teenage communities across the globe
Items we thought might be something to consider including:
● Due to the diversity of our “topic” areas possibly a more abstract logo would be preferred
● We would like to have some sort of reference\imagery that either is completely abstract or it includes a reference to the squid, or the squid & net. We are open to suggestions.
Requirements
● Logo will be able to be used on a variety of media.
● Logo will be simple, memorable and engage the target market
● Logo will be able to be versatile; readable in small and large sizes, black & white etc.
We want to be able to either take the logo or be able to extract out an easily recognizable part of
it and use it for situations where the logo will be rather small or surface area restricted. For example where the full title might not be appropriate but just a key image needs to suffice (ex for an app icon)
