Contest Brief

Design a vector graphics (SVG) logo for Cafe Connect. This is a new cafe to be run by church volunteers. Its purpose is to help to create connections with families of the adjacent schools and community. It is intended to be a simple cafe, with coffee, tea, other drinks and snacks on the menu.
The logo needs to:
symbolise "cafe";
symbolise "connection" (in a person to person caring sense, not Internet connection or adult hookups!);
create a bridge between the cafe and the church (church logo attached for reference);
be fairly simple to reproduce for signage etc;
by easy to read for all ages (kids are welcome here too);
convey a relaxed and inviting atmosphere;
look ok next to the church logo;
be adaptable for both portrait and landscape layouts.
Master must be provided in vector graphics (SVG format).

    A bit of feedback so far... a lot of the logos have the cross as the central feature - which is fine and very relevant - but would quite like to see some different approaches. This is going to be a tough choice. I've made comments on several of the designs, often that the artwork is great but I don't understand the reason for inclusion of one element or another. I think the winning design will have nice artwork and a reason for all the elements - like connectedness/care/welcoming, coffee/cafe, church. Thanks!

    Some general guidance: I like to see a reason for an element to be there. Connection - connected people, hands, linked components; coffee - cups, beans, etc - great ideas, they all make sense. Love hearts are probably not what we want. Leaves/flowers - also probably not what we want. Vines and leaves are elements from the main church logo - but these say "wine" rather than coffee so probably not the part we would like to use. Great creativity though!!
