Contest Brief

For this contest we would like you to create a set of the following icons which would be used in a cloud based analytics software.
1. The look for the icons should be: Simple, Clean, Professional and Elegant. Think similar to the new apple icons. The icons should be 2 dimensional, not 3D.
2. 1-2 color icons are preferred. Please see the attached color scheme and logo colors
3. The shape of the buttons should be rounded squares, rounds, etc. They will be placed next to each other in ribbons. [We are not necessarily looking for all round buttons]
4. For each icon you need to provide: Active, inactive, and mouse-over versions.
5. In a few cases there are show and hide versions of icons requested. You may achieve this with strokes through the main icons or in some other way:
6. We would need separate 20 pixel by 20 pixel png files for each image.
7. We need the final icons in our hand immediately after we accept the winner.
We have provided copies of the current icons when we have it. Where we don’t currently have icons, we have provided some ideas. However, please create your own icons based on these ideas. Don’t just copy them.

Please see the attached files that have more detailed instructions. The winner may be invited to create additional icons for us for an additional fee.

We are getting together tomorrow morning as a group to take final decisions. I won't be able to provide any more feedback probably. Please consolidate your submissions into one file. Have 20X20 icons ready. If you are selected, you will be asked to provide individual 20X20 icons immediately. If you don't have it handy we will move on to the next contestant. We will actually decide at 9AM Pacific time which is **5 HOURS BEFORE** the contest officially ends. This is to allow us to check that the contestant is ready with the file and arrange for file transfer. So, please DO NOT WAIT TILL THE LAST MINUTE.

For high rated submissions:
1. If you already hit rating of 5, I would just incorporate any remaining feedback, trow in some alternative options for the complex icons and incorporate it into one submission. We will look at one submission per person, so if you have different versions, please include them in one.
2. If you are at 4 or 3, we have provided specific feedback on how to improve your submission to a 5. If your entry hasn't been rejected that means we think you can get to a 5 rating with some improvements
3. If we rejected all of your entries, you need to completely rethink your approach

Hi everyone. Great job. We are almost at the end, so here are some important feedback:
1. We are trying to keep only 1-2 submissions from each person. So, if one of your entries got rejected, it just means the one we kept was a little better.
2. We will do the final selections exactly at the end of the contest. To make your chances of winning higher, feel free to provide multiple alternatives for the difficult icons such as guidance and control/preference, etc. It is also OK to provide multiple color schemes. The final team judging the icons will include a couple more people so it is not a bad idea to provide some alternatives just in case.
3. We will contact you right after the contest ends and we will need the icons immediately after we give you the prize. If because of timezone differences you won't be up at the time the contest ends, please let us know so that we can figure out alternatives.

Hello, I came here via invitation.
Since at your brief, you are talking about coloured details on Orange background, from my experience, that won't work, especially for a 20x20 icon. For example, purple, blue, red... won't look any good at all.
20x20 must be minimalistic, like tommyguzman's entry.
2 basic colours and 1 hover colour.

Consider these and trust us, designers.
