Elevations for Mariat Headquarters
Hi, I have used a well known geometric motif to sustain the composition - the hexagon. It is well known that the hexagon is one of the most resilient shapes in nature. It also makes the connection to the bees and their hive - a well organized community. The shape of the hexagon is also used for the head of the bolts and the nuts in engineering for the same reason. The first and the second floor are completing the horizontal dominant of the volume to give it a nice proportion. The sunlight scenarios are real - about noon in august. Although the use of glass is mainly to be avoided in the warm climate it is easy to avoid overheating by the use of sunshades such as the horizontal wings on the groundfloor and the second floor. The hexagonal pattern also plays a shading role. By night, the dynamics of the facade composition change. I've only made an example here but there is the possibility of engaging computer controlled LED facade lighting. Regards, Alex
