Contest Brief
Hello,
I am looking for a talented artist who can illustrate our own version of tarot cards based on the 1910 Rider Waite tarot deck. There are 78 cards in total. We will need each one designed. But for this contest we are trying to find the best artist for the job and only want you to create ONE card. Winners will receive the cash prize, as well as the job to do the other 77 cards at a negotiated price. There may be several winners in this case, if we are not able to agree on a price with the winner for the remaining cards.
PLEASE DO NOT PARTICIPATE UNLESS YOU ARE WILLING TO DO THE REMAINING 77 CARDS AT AN AGREED UPON PRICE AS A SEPARATE JOB
See here the original cards:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rider-Waite_tarot_deck
We want to make our own depiction (illustration) of each of these cards. They need to symbolize the same thing as the original cards. But it needs to be a completely original, illustrated design that we will own all copyrights to.
See attached example (tarotexample.jpg). We are looking for something like this.
But it doesn't have to be as much detailed... it can be a more simple outline to save time. It just needs to look like a real tarot card...with a spiritual / celestial style.... search "tarot card illustrations" in deposit photos for ideas and style inspiration
So, the rules for the contest are:
- Choose one Tarot Card from the 78 to re-create from the wiki link provided above
- Recreate the card in your own illustrated design
- The re-created card must closely represent the original card's meaning, without copying it exactly
- Clip art is not accepted - it must be your original illustration
- Submit your entry WITH THE ORIGINAL CARD side-by-side (like the attached example), so I can compare and see how well you depicted the original card in your own illustration.
Winner will be chosen and given opportunity to create remaining 77 cards at negotiated price.
Good luck!
