Contest Brief

1GreenEarth.com is a website that will:
a) Be a marketplace for environmentally friendly, green, sustainable, local, organic products etc.
b) Be a portal to discuss and share 'green' projects, such as solar, recycling etc.

I require a logo that will appear on all branding.

It should be a logo and text (1GreenEarth.com) where the text can appear at the side (thus making the logo rectangular) and where the text can appear under the logo (thus making it more square)

The winner will then be asked to prepare follow up graphic work, mainly for the website (icon design, banners etc.) I will negotiate pricing and framework involved before choosing the winner for this second step. Ideally, the freelancer will be interested in a long term relationship.

Hi All,
Thank you kindly for all of the entries. Choosing a winner is going to be incredibly difficult. I ran a poll with 10 of the logos with 50 people. The vote distribution was pretty much exactly even - no clear winner emerged. therefore, I'll make the call myself. I'll need one or two days after the competition closes.

  I understand CH that you are searching for the best visually appealing logo. However, sometimes is important to have a good concept and smart design which is not the best looking, and it's not important to be. The guy who sketched first the abstract green light bulb is the concept creator. I'm lucky somehow that nobody else incorporated number 1 into design, and I want to thank other designers for that. I believe is important to have a unique concept. Kind regards to you CH and the other freelancers!

Hi All,
Thanks for all the hard work so far. I'm really impressed. I wish I was starting 10 different companies so that I could award more than one winner.

For the final part, I'll choose 8 and ask my colleagues to take part in a poll. THEREFORE, COULD YOU PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR LOGO WITHOUT EFFECTS ON A PLAIN BACKGROUND. All of the 3d renders, embossing on paper etc. look great and I'm happy to see them. But in order to choose a winner, I'd like to present the logos with an equal playing field.

Dear Contest Holder,
please stay away from generic logos ( http://www.gtgraphics.org/genericlogos.html ), overused and copied logos, to avoid future copyright issues.
please don't make any decisions based on free Photoshop mock-ups.
A lot of designers here try to show their logo in the first place in a 3D ( wall ) lettering so they can hide how it looks on a plain white background.
