I maintain a speed of 150 wpm for almost an hour and had a top record speed of 212 wpm.An average typist I work at 50-80 wpm, while 80-95 wpm I considered a fast typing speed. With the advent of personal computers came computer science courses in which basic skills taught, including typing.It takes less than 10 hours to type with 10 fingers at about 45 words per minute and another 2 hours to reach hand writing speed of about 20 WPM.
