Converting the static graphic part of [login to view URL] to be DB driven Project language: English with support of presenting Hebrew texts Environment: ASP + ASP.NET 2 (VS 2005) C# with MDB (2000 or XP) database Our portal is [login to view URL], which presents a table of graphic links to the most popular web sites in Israel. The portal has both permanent graphic links and user defined links option, where the user can define shortcuts to web sites which he visit often. The customize links is available for users who have registered through קישורים אישיים Which mean: custom links. We will guide the supplier of the use of that Hebrew part so language will not be obstacle for the developer. Right now we would like to build a version that will have management capability and the info regarding what icons to present will be taken from db Regarding the db its important to us that all the functions deal we the db will be separated to different file so it will be easy to upgrade when we will want in the future to use sql server instead of mdb There will be 2 options that we would be able to choose by setting text value in the [login to view URL] file that we will add to the GraphicAreaManagment directory. The variable IsTheListOfIconsWillBeUsedForMakingOfflineFile will have true or false. If true: At that stage the output of the program will be asp text file so we would be able to upload and use it online and that asp will reflect the version that was built by the management tool. The form will have a button : make asp file. If false: The code will know that the output is generated online and will set what the users will see. So in that case the file responsible for presenting the content will take the list from the DB. The management form will contain: 1. subjects management a. functions to select : add / edit / delete subject 2. icons in each subjects – management a. add / edit / delete for the icons list b. each icon will have that info: i. alt text to present ii. graphic file name iii. url that this icon will link to More to notice: 1. there will be combination with present links management module so if there will be the value true in the parameter ShouldWeLetRegisteredUsersToDecideAlsoAboutTheGraphicPart at the ini file , so users (of the custom links) will have the ability to get into the management form of the graphic links and decide ALSO what GRAPHIC links would they see and what they will not. a. The form for them will be different ver. (limited) so they would be able to decide only what to present from the list already made but not to add new icons. 2. The management tool will support Hebrew and English. It will present Heb by using already developed module we will provide to you. With that tool also the programmer can switch the front size language easily with no need to know the other language. 3. Who will we preferred? Of course the price is important factor, but besides there are important parameters we take into consideration: a. Contact i. The module has to set CustomerId to each new customer in a sequence, not automatic, numbering method (1,2,3.. etc). So if we have 4 customers that the last one is with CustomerId = 8 then the next should have CustomerId =9.
