I have a XI Crystal Report that receives two values from an ASP Application. First value is how many copies to print. The second value is the ID of the record to print. The report uses the ID to lookup a dozen fields from a database. It prints the values on a Zebra4mPlus on 4h x 8w sticker.
I need a programmer to create a Formula Field that displays what ‘copy’ is currently being printed. For example, the ASP app sends ID=4 and Copies=50. When the printer prints the 5th copy, a field somewhere on the report must say 5. When it prints 49, the field must say 49.
The Crystal Report must also print each copy twice. The labels are being put on the front and back of a box. For example, the 5th copy should print twice and the ‘copy field’ should have the value of 5 on both prints.
So if the ID=4 and Copies=50. The printer will print:
Page 1 (‘copy field’= 1)
Page 2 (‘copy field’= 1)
Page 3 (‘copy field’= 2)
Page 4 (‘copy field’= 2)
…..
Page 99 (‘copy field’= 50)
Page 100(‘copy field’= 50)
You will also need to create a third parameter called ‘PickUp’. This number field will provide the ‘copy field’ a value to start at. By default it will be 0.
Nothing on the print label will change accept the ‘copy field’.
If you have a better suggestion let me know. I know Crystal Reports has limitations and I am not opposed to modifying the ASP application. I would rather modify the crystal report though.
