Your task is to 1. Find any calculation errors in the project report (Please refer to “Technical Analysis Eng” attached) and 2. To create a powerpoint presentation (of 4 to 7 mins) that shows your calculations. For power point presentation calculations you have a choice You can either do it on section 2.2 or on section 2.3. (Whichever is easier for you). Please refer to document titled “Client Brief” for all details. 3. The powerpoint slides need to be made clearly showing all steps of the working and have to be well designed. I have attached a basic powerpoint template for you (the content is not relevant and related to the report but you can use the knowledge or the template of the presentaiton slides) The report for this project has already been completed (which caters to section 1). You can refer to the document titled “Technical Analysis Eng”. Your calculations for section 2.2 or 2.3 will be linked to those presented in the report. For your reference, I am stating the two options for you below 1. The quantity of plywood required for the walls and the rate of heat loss through the walls, windows and door. (this section may be used for the Presentation) The design parameters for this section are: • AW - the surface area of plywood required for the walls of the hut (in m2) (with the area for the windows and door subtracted) • QW – the rate of heat loss through the walls, two windows and door of the hut (in W) In the presentation students must clearly show a link to Design Section 1 AND must also suggest how this heat loss could be reduced. Or you can do it on 2. The quantity of plywood required for the ceiling (internal), the quantity of colour bonded steel sheeting for the roof and the rate of heat loss through the ceiling and roof material (or this section may be used for the Presentation) The design parameters for this section are: • AC - the surface area of plywood required for the ceiling of the hut (in m2) • AR - the surface area of roofing material required for the hut (in m2) • QC – the rate of heat loss through the ply ceiling / roof sheet combination (in W) In the presentation students must clearly show a link to Design Section 1 AND must also suggest how this heat loss could be reduced. These tasks need to be completed within maximum of 2-3 hours.
