determinates and impact of foreign direct investment on economic growth in nigeria(1980-2010)

Project. Need a “white paper” written which describes the following problem and does an economic/financial analysis on the cumulative financial impact of the issue on local, state, and federal government. (with emphasis initially on the state (Texas) ) I’m a small business person based in Texas and the problem: improper classification of employees as contractors, is a problem for many small businesses who operate in labor intensive industries and operate legally and ethically. Arguably more serious than the impact to some small businesses, is the fact that this misclassification , with its attendant practices, is often associated with other serious exploitations of these employees. There is a serious fiscal impact as well. When these individuals are misclassified as contractors as opposed to employees there is no withholding / payment of workmen’s’ comp and general liability insurance or unemployment insurance. Likewise there is no withholding and/ or remittance of Social Security or Medicaid taxes either. Bottom line is that it is cumulatively a very significant problem that robs public entities of revenues and abuses an often unsophisticated group of employees. The challenge is that the practice is broadly distributed on the employer side and that the impacts are distributed across a whole group of public bodies. There are negative financial and operating impacts to Social Security, the IRS, Wage and Hour, Unemployment commissions, insurance commissions etc. See attachment for a more complete description.
