Create simple GUI for fastcopy

We need a sync program with a simple GUI based on fastcopy:

It's a excellent copying program that has command line feature,

So the GUI must launch command line based on fastcopy's commands

The main function is to copy same folder between 2 computer in a LAN,

This is used to copy game folders in a game center so that user can copy game folders from another PC,

The main command line that will be used is

[login to view URL] /cmd=force_copy "C:\Source Folder" /to="D:\Destination_Folder\"

(But it may change later to fit the situations)

Why not use fastcopy's GUI?

Because we need to let user have the ability to copy game folders from another PC,

WITHOUT the ability to delete or mess the folders in its own computer (rename, delete, create new things, copy other files, etc)

There are 2 versions for this program:

1. Master Version, to be used in operator, has the capability to copy from and to all computers.

INPUTS :

3 inputs from user,

- Name of the Game (dropdown menu with the contents based on text file or preferably existing folders)

- Source computer (dropdown menu based on text, contains computer IP addresses)

- Target computer (dropdown menu based on text, contains computer IP addresses)

And a Button command "Sync"

2. Client version, Simpler version that can only sync folders from a server

INPUTS :

1 input from user,

- Name of the Game (dropdown menu with the contents based on text file or preferably existing folders)

And a Button command "Sync"

(Since it only syncs from a server it does not need to specify target and source)

ERRORS / EXCEPTIONS

- Don't let more than once instance running, i.e there can only be 1 running program

- For Master, source can't be the same with target and vice versa, show error when it's same.

- Since we are copying large files and the computers are often restarted,

the process sometimes is interrupted because of various reasons (turned off, lan cable problem, etc)

If it happens (disconnected during copying process),

prompt user to repeat or cancel the process, AND auto repeat the process in 10 seconds.

For example (Master) :

2 computers connected in LAN, pc 1 and pc 2

User input from dropdown menu

Game name : "Pointblank"

Source Computer : 1

Target Computer : 2

The program will then replace D:\Games\Pointblank in PC 2 with D:\Games\Pointblank in PC 1

If the process is interrupted, a dialog box asking retry or cancel will show up,

and it will automatically retry in 10 seconds

Client example ;

User input from dropdown menu

Game name : "Pointblank"

Press sync,

The program will then replace D:\Games\Pointblank in his PC with D:\Games\Pointblank in Server's PC

We prefer Visual Basic because of its user friendly interface,

but if you have another alternative as long as it's user friendly we will consider i
