Hello. I can make this project for you. There is some moments i need to clarify: 1) You need multiplexing cirquit to connect 180 photodiodes to Arduino. Do you need a PCB design for this board or already have it? I have experience of connecting up to 250 sensors to Arduino and can propose acceptable solution for this. 2) How the synchronization with LEDs will be organized? Some wire/cable will be used? Or something wireless is necessary? For this task another (smaller) multiplexor board is necessary. Alo, as I understand, the distance between device and sensors require to use enough powerfull LEDs, so commutation cirquit is necessary. 3) Multiplexing cirquit is enough slow solution, and analog measurement of 250 sensors will be take enough long time (up to several seconds). How fast calculation shall be? Also, as I understand, the period of 5 ms is choosen to remove visible "blinking". But signal will be enough weak, and mixed with 50Hz EMI. What you think about using of IR LEDs and larger period of measurement. Also some optimized algorythm of blinking sequense can be involved. In any case I will have to make the prototyping PCB's for this project for debugging. If you want - I can send it to you. Cost of components and delivery, about 60-100$, will be added. Hello! Very interesting project. But for this project realization I need additional information: 1. In what way 180 photo detectors will be connected to the arduino? What the type of photo detectors, type of their output signals? It is important. 2. After long time of working the synchronization may fails even if quartz stabilization will be used in circuit. How long a time of system working after the synchronization start? Hours, days, weeks? In any case I will create a quality arduino programm for your project. The the position of the detector will be calculated based on the 12 different light intensities measured.
