Extensive experience in .NET/C# programming for the last 14 years and have programmed towards a very wide variety of 3rd party systems. Good at reading other people's code, and understand architectural principles used. Focus on using Domain Driven Development, which gives very flexible and adaptive code. Since you have access to the program I would first try to reverse engineer the existing application, or at least as much of it as possible. Given this is created in .NET there are many ways to extract source code from .NET assemblies and executable files. So my first step would be to investigate this, and see if reverse engineering is possible. Given no code obfuscation tools have been used, this should be possible. Further steps are to fill in any gaps in the reverse engineered code and add documentation to the code The code will then be added to a source code repository, so any changes can be tracked. Deployment mechanism will also be added, so the software can be easily deployed after changes have being done. At the end testing and bugfixing. Please contact me if you have any questions.
