C# parsing to SQL database - January 2016

We currently have an application that parses information for network devices and writes the information to a MS SQL database. The database will be supplied to the developer. The developer will create a simple Visual C# console application to parse a text file and write the information to a MS SQL database. Task Definition 1. Create a C# console application to read text files 2. Parse the information into variables or lists; wherever relevant. 3. Validate data before writing to database 4. Write data to the Microsoft SQL Database 5. Package and deliver the final source code A C# console application will be created to execute and display the progress of the parsing and database functions. The application will have the capability to open standard text files that contain show command output data from a Cisco network device. Once the file is open, the console application will read each show command and execute the appropriate parsing method. The parsing method will add each class object to a class list for that command. Once the class list is populated, a database method will be called to add the data contained in the class list to the database. Example of parsing Interface data "Parsing interface data ……. Parsing of interface data has been successfully completed." On successful insertion of the database records, the console application should display "Records have been successfully inserted". Please have a look at the attached files, though the job entails saving the relevant data, please quote your price only for parsing the relevant data. We have a design in place for populating and inserting the relevant parsed data to the database. We will share this with the developer so they can implement the same design. The developer should maintain proper coding standards, and code (bug free, and should compile) and should be checked in our repository. The chosen developer shall be briefed on the integration aspect, as the parsing routine should seamlessly integrate in the main application. Note: The scope of this project is to parse one text file that includes the output of multiple show commands for one network device. We will only look at proposals that include a proposal amount.
