Convert OSM .pbf files to .shp

I’d like to clip the Australia and Oceania .[login to view URL] dataset from here: [login to view URL] To fit within the state of Victoria (see attached file) Then convert it from .pbf to .shp so i can style it with this: [login to view URL] The problem is I am working on in OSX and aren’t confident with command line work or databases in general as i’m a designer, not a coder ;) The styles seem as though they’ll be easy enough to apply with the multiQML plugin in QGIS, but i can’t say that for sure as i need the .shp files first. This should be quite straight forward to a GIS operator. I am working in QGIS. Thank you.
