Osmosis produces free Creative Commons-licensed educational videos on medical topics which can be found on YouTube ([url removed, login to view]) and featured on Wikipedia pages for the corresponding topics. We’re committed to creating the best possible learning experience for students.

The channel's growing, and we're hoping to scale production of videos to cover more topics in medicine at a faster rate, with the ultimate goal being to provide a library of free "high-yield" educational content for med students as well as medical professionals and people outside the medical field.

We're looking for people like you to help us write scripts for our videos. We're specifically looking for people who can write 3+ scripts per week and can commit to 20+ hours per week to the project.

One super important step in the production of Osmosis videos is writing a script on a given topic, which involves researching or reviewing a specific topic (pathology, physiology, pathophysiology, etc), and coming up with a straightforward and concise, yet non-robotic breakdown of said topic. Sound like your cup o' tea? Then read on.

Ideally, we're looking for somebody who can not only understand a complex topic, but can convey and explain that topic in a way that's straightforward and easy to understand, while at the same time not sacrificing content and keeping it succinct, concise and information-rich.

That said, here are the next steps:

(1) Write a script on a topic of your choice (see below)

(2) Submit the the script to us! (This is part of the application process and is uncompensated)

(3) We'll review your script, and hand it back to you with suggestions on how to make it more inline with what we're looking for.

(4) Submit your second draft! (uncompensated)

(5) We'll decide if you're the right fit for us!

Check out these previously written scripts for example references (they also have some bonus tips and tricks):

- Ischemia: [url removed, login to view]

- Crohn disease: [url removed, login to view]

- Lactose intolerance: [url removed, login to view]

Check out the channel, and if you think writing medical educational scripts for videos of that caliber and style is something you're interested in, then please send us a script with your application! The script should cover the scope of what a medical student preparing for the USMLE Step 1 exam would be expected to know. Access to the following resources (optional) will help you determine the correct scope: Pathoma, First Aid Step 1 Prep, Pathological Basis of Disease by Robbins et al.

Don't know where to start? Choose one of these topics and have at it! Or pick your own topic.

- Dysplasia

- Malaria

- Leukopenia

- Sideroblastic anemia

- Asthma

- Folate deficiency

We pay $100 USD per completed script (with revisions if necessary). Most of our scripts are typically around 800 words, which produce 5-7 minute videos. As a reference, our current script writers can write these scripts of this length in 2-3 hours (with revisions addressed).

That's all! Best of luck!
