We are creating a new database of case studies from two separate sources of information - a book (pdf file) and an existing online database (web connection will be required to access it).
This job will require you to copy and paste information from the pdf document and the web database entries into an excel template. The case studies have their information categorised under one set of headings and the database has a second set of headings, and these will need to be matched with the new headings in the template (it is a simple matching exercise and the relationship is provided, e.g. information under the 'hazard' heading goes into 'risk' column)
This is initially a short-term contract: there are 418 cases in the book and 179 cases in the online database. I am happy to trial someone new to Freelancer, so long as you are willing to submit a progress report to ensure all is going well early in the project. There are also at least two more jobs that will follow on from this project (same new database but different source information, as well as more research-based work) if we are both happy with the outcome!

- Previous experience in data entry
- A good understanding of office applications, such as word processing and spreadsheets
- Ability to pay close attention to detail
