We have Surveycraft data which we want converted to SPSS.
The complication is that there are several loops which have no fixed length (i.e. the last question in the loop is a question that asks, "any more?")
An example - we ask for each hotel the respondent stayed in, how they travelled there, how many nights they stayed, how much they spent on accommodation, food, etc.
So the "A" level loop is the iteration of the place stayed (i.e. 1 for the first place they stayed, 2 for the second, etc)
Each hotel has a code (so we have over 400 at present, and this list can grow each month as new places open). We want to be able to analyse by this in SPSS.
How they travelled there can be a multi-response, which entails another loop (again, it's open ended). It may require a flight to Fiji, then a taxi to the wharf, and a boat trip to another island to get there.
So the "B" level loop is the iteration of the travel method.
Inside that loop will be questions about payment methods, and amout paid.
At the end of the "B" loop is a question "Any other transport used?" Yes will repeat the loop, No will exit.
At the end of the "A" loop is a question "Did you stay anywhere else?" Yes will repeat the loop, No will exit.
This is the most complex example in the data, but there are a few which have "A" loops of varying length.
Basically what we need is to supply our client with a SPSS file each month which they can use for further analysis than what we supply them.
Because it is a regular and ongoing requirement, we are looking for something repeatable.
