Pre?Laboratory Assignment:
Prior to your scheduled laboratory meeting time the following items need to be completed:
2. Find and read “Handy Expert Tip Simplifies Resistor Segments on ICs” by Tom Li. A
copy of this Electronic Design article can be found on?line at www.electronicdesign.com. Search the website for the title. Note: Application notes like this are what keep engineers current (in their fields) in industry.
3. Using EXCEL, create YOUR OWN Table 1 and Table 2 (no photocopies). Include a title, your name, date and the corresponding circuit diagrams.
4. For each circuit shown in Figure 1 through Figure 4, calculate:
a) Req – The equivalent resistance “seen” by the source
b) IT – The total current flowing out of the source
c) The power dissipation in each resistor (PR1, PR2 and PR3)
d) The sum of the power dissipated in the resistors (sum of PR1, PR2, ...)
e) PTotal – The total power supplied by the source (use VSOURCE * I SOURCE)
5. Record the results of step 4 in your tables (Table 1 and Table 2).
6. Create one neat, organized, and complete set of sample calculations showing all of the work you did in step 4 for the circuit shown in Figure 4.
the tables and figures are are attached
