Microprocessor to operate an Array of cameras that record to an sd card or cards. Must be able to be triggered to record at given time. GPS position is a must for picture data there is already a GPS on board picture just need to be stamped. Experience with arduinio would be helpful. The attached pic is something that gives and idea of what I am looking for. The array will probably be 8 cameras instead of 6. Wifi connectivity to transfer pictures to server Goals of the Camera array! 8 cameras: Bandpass Filter Set - 490nm - 550nm - 680nm - 720nm - 800nm - 900nm - 950nm - Standard camera view (RGB) The cameras need to have a way to get a trigger from the arduino board to start taking pictures at probably around 30-60fps. Store the data in raw format on board to be transferred via Wi-Fi to a server when the camera gets back to an area that it can connect to a Wi-Fi. The 8 cameras data must be separated so the data can be matched to the camera (filter) that took the picture. The pictures need to have GPS stamp so we know where the picture was taken. It needs to be matched to google earth so the areas of concern in the picture can be physically inspected. Things we have looked at. 1. Rasberry Pi camera module 2. OmniVision OV5647 3. SD Cards versus Ram Chips, Mux versus individual memories

We are a team of skilled professionals with more than 20 years of experience in the field of electronics, embedded programming, software development. We have 6 team members, including two Ph.D. We already built computer vision projects, including remotely controlled cameras. We can build this project for you, but first we need to negotiate about the implementation details. 1. What should be the size of device? 2. Do you have some thoughts about camera models? 3. Will you be able to provide cameras? Hope for further cooperation with you!:

Hi, I looked in to your description. My opinion for this project is Raspberry pi with camera module. Raspberry pi Camera Module is a 5MP sensor and supports both stills and HD video recording. I assume the optic bandpass filter will work with this camera as well. Another advantage of Raspberry pi system is it is having USB hosts, where we can plugin wifi adoptor and usb GPS device for geo-tagging. If all camera's are placed in a single place as showing in the picture, then one GPS is enough. But the system is not limited to this and if cameras are placed different physical location, then each raspi module with camera can have its own GPS module. Regarding sending data to picture server, Raspberry pi runs on Linux flavor and so supports variety of protocols. We can send the picture to a webserver or to a windows share or using some other protocols like FTP etc. Raspberry pi consumes less power (~700mA) and so all units can be powered with a 5A supply or with the help of USB power banks and this will make it completely remote solution. We can write code to run in sync to start picture/video record at pre-determined schedule or on-demand triggering. Then all units can send the content to the server and content can be tagged uniquely to identify each unit. Raspberry pi runs on SD card and we can save the data locally if required or if send fails. As per raspberry documentation, it supports 128GB SD card as well. So there will not be any lack of space to store. Thanks!

Hi i can help you, specialized in Audio and Video working for more of 30 years ,if you like Atmel tecnologies not problem and working with SD HD 32 gigas working with high speed FPGA Xilinix is better for working with 8 camera OV5647 or more for working with wifi CC3000 of Texas o other module. GPS not problem other comunication for control are ok Bloetooh , RF433 , GPRS 4 band etc. Project is very complex but i liked. Please see Portfolio for samples of works . To save time and money i can recommend working in steps. For example you need on camera array design or project apply 4 private project to miky4227. Project 1 - setp design sch , select components , confirm ideas, and design first test. if you are ok with this design continue Project 2- step design PCB one first prototype , PCB , Gerber and 3d model if you are ok with this design continue. Project 3- step Make PCB and assembling in your country or in China or any and send , one for you and one for me. if you are ok with this design continue. Project 4- step generated one first program one for test hardware. if you are ok with this design continue. Project 5- step continue with this or other project Cost and time for example step SCH bid for $1000 , and time is1 5 day or1 7days step PCB bid for $1000 , and time is 15 days or1 7 days step make PCB bid for $1000 , and time is 20 days ,assembling and test. Step make little soft bid for $1000 , and time is 20 days , Bets regards

Hi, I think what you need can be realized with Arduino Mega, 8 TTL-serial Cameras, WiFi board, GPS and SD card. A better option could be using GSM-GPS module like SIM908. With this we can transfer data over a GPRS connection so there will be The choice of camera is important. I've worked with raspberry pi and pi camera module but have faced several issues as camera was a beta release. I've Pi, Pi cam, Mega and Uno boards with me so can manage development. I would suggest to explore the possibility of using arduino platform first. We need to discuss about the detailed requirements before finalizing the components. I am an experienced arduino developer and have done a lot of code development and h/w integration. Pls. reply and we can discuss further scope of work and plan accordingly. Regards, Polestar

Hi Im Telecommunication engineer. Ive worked with a lot of embedded systems with cameras, arduino and other microcontrollers. I can program directly from datasheet so no need for a previous library. A first study would be needed in order to design the project first. Message me if you are interested in my services. Regards.Greg.

You have these cameras with individual optical Band pass Filters, camera ID must be associated with their filters, I did a similar thing without WiFi but with recorder using a motorized turret mounted filters with a single camera. RPi is good choice, suggest SD card for storage. If interested can discuss tech details. Thanks ADI

Hello, I am currently completing a design using a raspberry pi were I designed a PIR sensor board (attached to the P1 header) to trigger the camera and send the photos to a drop box via email. We are planning to resell the designed board thru adafruit. I mention this because this approach would be applicable to your project. I am thinking we could interconnect 8 raspberry Pi modules (with cameras) and have one signal the array to take a photo, assuming one module would be the master module responsible for triggering the array, it could provide time stamp and gps location to the remaining units. Anyways, it would be a fast way to prototype your project. I am a product designer electrical engineer, specializing in embedded hardware (schematic capture, PCB design, PCB prototype assembly) and firmware design (code development) and development. My profile provides some examples of the projects I also have resources to development mechanical components such as plastic housing. I am based in the US (Chicago) so time zone differences, shipping of prototype materials (US customs) or language barriers should not be problem. Please take a moment to review my freelancer profile projects and I am also on LinkedIn with my work history. If afterwards, you think I might be of service in your project, feel free to contact me at 630.696.7460. Steven Sagerian

I have the necessary experience to execute this project, because I already did a product very similar to this one, you are proposing. The project I did, it used an Atmel's microcontroller to read an image from the camera, that it had triggered, put it into a sram memory to transmit via gprs to a server later. I would be greatly pleased to join your project for the post of C Programming Developer as I posses the required skills and experience in this area. I have many years of experience working as a C Programming Developer and I also have continual experience in C++ Programming over the past few years. I have individual experience in working with Circuit Design and can work under any work pressure or rigid deadlines. I also have great experience in Embedded Software and HTML.I have 3 years of experience with smart cards, and aproximately 10 years with microcontrollers. I look forward to being hired by you. The price is for to do a prototype, and implementation of a firmware to trigger, reading and sending images to the server.
