1) Current Change Order Template is a 10-worksheet workbook with 2 additional sheets with reference data
2) Pricing is linked to an external workbook that contains labor rates, material pricing, etc.
3) Macros exist to automatically export the change order to PDF (only the applicable worksheets, not the entire workbook)
4) The ultimate goal is to have a summary log automatically created based on each change order. The log would include the total change order value, labor hours, material costs, etc. How this would be achieved is the part I need your help with. I’m OK with one master workbook that contains 50 change order templates…or if it makes more sense, create a log in a separate workbook that’s linked to the change orders (as long as it’s linked automatically and remains linked regardless of the file name/location). The size of the workbook is important, but not critical. The current change order template workbook is 2 MB. My concern is that if we have multiple templates within a workbook, the file size will be astronomical. Hence the logic of having the log in a separate workbook as long as it’s automatically linked.
