Hello. If by a search engine you are referring to a google/yahoo/bing clone I might just be the guy for you. For a search engine you'll first need a crawler - that will find and extract all the links starting with a seed address. That being step one. Step two would be parsing and extracting the words from each of the links and save them in a db (noting the source link). Each keywords will also have associated with it the position and the keywords around it (previous and next) - this bit will be used so that the user can search by expressions also and for the search engine to be able to differentiate between good and non-relevant results. Among other steps (is quite a bit of a wall text to explain since is not that easy if you want to make it really viable) would be to analyze each source link and target link and generate a score for each one of them (so that you can rank them by importance and also detect spam links). I can give you much more info if you're interested. Also the timeframe I've given here is for the coding - the actual data gathering should never stop as the data needs to be refreshed and such.
