I am writing from IMAGINATION KEEPSAKES, a line of products we carry at HomeStudio. We are a small business that offers creative services and we sell customizable stories for children. We write and illustrate these stories and are able to manipulate names in the text, as well as hair, eye, skin colour and texture, as well as gender of the main characters. In some instances we can choose from a variety of animals – such as the dog, cat or hamster as the main character’s pets. In some cases the colour of these animals can change.
At the moment we make these changes manually ourselves in Photoshop as we have created everything from the beginning to the end of this process. It is time consuming and not feasible financially because of this as the cost of printing individual books is already in itself expensive.
We are in need of a programmer (game developer) who can build us an interactive website that functions on many levels. Please see below:
The website must be a ‘pay ready’ site so customers can pay with Paypal or credit card.
The client must be able to log into the site and begin creating their own keepsake, aka manipulating avatars.
The keepsake when created should automatically save itself as a full pdf file that can be sent to the printers. This file should automatically email to us.
The client when creating the avatar should be able to see a preview of what it will look like, and not just click the red or black or blonde (yellow) checkbox without seeing the final result.
When dealing with colours we prefer a sample tool where there is a colour wheel or gradient and a colour picker and clients choose their own ‘hue’ or shade.
We have all the artwork and do not want the developer to redraw. We have the various options – for example, long curly hair, long straight hair, long textured hair etc. We just want the interface developed.
We currently have two books but are in the midst of writing more. We would like to know if we use your service – with this in mind- if there is a way to build the site to easily accommodate more books, and what that entails.
There is also a dedication page and back cover where the child stars as the main person. In these instances only (as throughout the book it is illustrations and not photos), we would like the client to be able to upload a photo that automatically becomes the back cover photo or in the instance of the dedication page, slots itself and others (other photos), into designated boxes or areas.
