I am a promoter of JIu-Jitsu tournament in western Canada. I'm planning a submission only event between high level black and brown belts and want to organize it under a different logo than my tournament logo.
The event will be called 'Antaeus'. The name is from this greek myth:

I would like to use the word Antaeus as the logo similar to how this promotion has done it with their brand name ([url removed, login to view]) as seen in the top left corner. Possibly with a very strong font that captures the ancient history associated with the myth and character of Antaeus.
I also like the idea of having two men grappling at the end of the word, behind the word (like the diamond is behind the word Metamoris in the previous link) or perhaps on top of the latter half of the word...where ever it fits and looks best.
There is an example of a very simple image of two men grappling used by this brand (top of the page): [url removed, login to view] and we'll have to be careful to not be too close to that image as it is a very popular (and trademarked) brand.
I've included some grappling drawings that caught my eye during a google search for 'grappling drawings' or 'grappling images'. I have indicated through numbers my favorites (I find 1a and 1b to be almost equally intriguing). But I'm open to what works best for the brand and it needs to be simple (so it could be outlined figures filled in with solid colours like Manto or like the two grapplers on this website, which I own ([url removed, login to view]). The myth involves Antaeus being lifted off the earth to be defeated so the image that is on the wikipedia site may be a good option (you can also see a whole bunch of figurines depicting this fight if you google 'Antaeus images'. However, grappling occurs mostly on the ground, especially sub only grappling, so please two grapplers on the ground will also work. If the images aren't solid then having them clothed in ancient greek type clothing would be good.
The image just has to be simple so it can be used in multiple mediums (i.e. I don't need all the shading, lines seen on many of the images included). Also, to keep in mind, the two guys grappling can't look suggestive where it can be misinterpreted or bantered about as suggestive.
I want a simple logo that I can use on clothing and on line. I'd like some bold, strong colours (black or greys or something that reflects the history) but nothing to colourful. However, if as a designer you think you can add some colour and keep it true to grappling then please do so.
