Being a 10+ years experienced in server administration I can tweak up your pure-ftp server to take such load.

I am Red Hat Certified Engineer, Red Hat Certified Expert in Clustering and Enterprise Storage Management with 8 years of Linux System Administration experience, 2 years in Robotics. I had been doing virtualization for 10 years. I worked as a consultant before specifically on performance tuning on Linux enterprise servers. I have a question on this: 1) Is this Virtual Machine configured as fully virtualised or paravirtualized? 2) Do you do thin provisioning on the hard disks allocated to the server? 3) Assuming that this is also connected to SAN/NAS, how is that file system being mounted on the server? iSCSI? SAMBA? NFS? or a simple, higher bandwidth FC LUNs being visible only to this server? 4) What kind of IO scheduler do you use on the VM-level and the host level? 5) What is the OS for both the host and the VM? ---- What I would like to see is actually the host OS's System Activity report from the host and the VM. Check if it's installed on the server -> it's # yum info sysstat. If that already exists, I could get a better understanding of the load and time that it took place. It also would have a restart marker inserted whenever the server crashed. I am going to split this request up into few milestones I would not need access to the server -- but I need to have # sosreport gathered. As with my past experience, this would require in depth analysis and you would need to monitor the server after the tuning.
