Design a logo for MapVision (with follow-up project for the winning designer)

This is a bid request for a logo design for a new company called MapVision. There will be a follow-up project for the winning designer. The follow-up project involves designing a letterhead, envelope, businesscards and (most importantly) the user interface for a web-application. MapVision is a project/company founded by a person who knows anything and everything there is to know about maps. He has a vast collection of rare (visual-) topgraphical maps. He uses these maps for educational purposes and supplies them to news agencies. With his new website / company he aims to broaden his horizon and make the maps available to more people and companies. His website will work similar to a stock photography site. Attached is a questionnaire he filled in. This questionnaire should be used as your guideline for designing the logo. ## Deliverables The project consists of three parts: 1. **Design a logo** You will start with a logo. You'll create several (at least 5) mockups of possible logos. I will pick one of those mockups and provide directions on how to change the logo to look just right. After the logo is completed, you will supply the logo in various formats including Adobe Illustrator, PNG, Tiff and Jpeg. You will also create an inverse version (for dark backgrounds) and a black-and-white version and deliver the files for those versions as well. During the contest phase, only a regular low-resolution version is required. The final deliverables must be supplied after I award the reward to the winning design. You will provide the font you used for the logo and a document containing brand guidelines (font used, CMYK and RGB colours used). To design the logo you will use Adobe Illustrator or Inkscape. All parts of the project include at least 3 revisions. Final deliverables will be all versions of the logo in Illustrator or Inkscape format, plus renderings of the logo in JPG, TIFF, (alpha-transparent) PNG and EPS formats.
