We currently have an android app with source code. This app has an icon that the user pushes on their android device and a WebView opens up a specific URL to my client's website. We would like to upgrade this app to include push notifications. We would like the icon on the device to update every time there is a new message / alert that comes through. Provide me with an estimate and a plan of action on how you would get this done. The code that I will give you for the app is in Android Studio. You will be required to compile this app a few times. It will use the same code except a different icon, a different web address, and a different splash screen, all of which I will provide. By the way, we would like to use onesignal.com. Thanks!

Hi there, it is not really possible. Some third party android systems allow such think (I think Sony has this function) but it is not reliable and applicable for all devices. For such tasks I can implement a special widget. I made such thing for exact application and it is working good, tested! We would use a Google fire base cloud messaging API to send a push notification to the android devices. i hope you are using some kind of data base which is storing a users information because we would store a registration key code against a specific device to which notification would be pushed.
