I am requesting a slight modification to an existing tool to open PDF files using Adobe Acrobat. The tool currently uses an Imageviewer applet to open JPEG files. The JPEG files have been converted to PDFs. So, the new workflow of the tool should use Adobe Acrobat to open PDF files in the same form, which is the AsBuilt Form (code and form included in the attachment). When this tool is enabled and the user clicks on a polygon, a list of available drawings for the selected water main pop up in the form with attribute data related to the polygon feature class.
New Workflow of the tool :
When the user clicks on each record, the image should open the PDF files in the lower part of the form. The PDF files are stored on a network path and the nework path for the PDFs is set in a config file. Settings for the config file are attached in "Config.txt".
The existing tool is written in C# .Net and ArcObjects. The tool is currently works within ArcMap 9.2. I can show a demo of the tool for a more clear picture of the its functionality. Other sample data will be sent after bid acceptance. Attached is the code and screenshots of the tool.
Current tool workflow:
This tool opens two different forms of files, As-Built drawings (JPEG) and Construction Drawings (PDF). If an as-built is not found in a certain area, the tool askes the user if they want to see a construction drawing and then opens a PDF format construction drawing. So,the code to open a PDF is already exists ([login to view URL]), but would like to include the As-Built drawings as well. This may invlove changing a few variables and commenting the JPEG file code.
Please let me know if you have any questions. Will provide remote session for testing the code after modifications.
Thanks,
Blackv
