I need a calendar written in ASP.NET using Visual Basic. I would like for the calendar to be a user control that can be added from the toolbox. The calendar control must be able to accept data from a datastore i.e. XML File, SQL Server, MySQL, Access, Etc. The data store should not matter as we will simply need to bind a data adapter to the control. The user can set the connection properties on the data adapter. There should be required fields in the data store. The control will use these fields to populate the calendar. The fields will be ASSET, ASSETID, DATE, STARTTIME, ENDTIME, SCHEDULEID (PRIMARY KEY), USERID, COMMENTS, and SUBJECT. It would be great if the user could define custom fields to use within the control.
The control will simply populate the calendar control with items found within the database. The calendar should be elegant and have a nice look to it. I would like for the user to have the abiltiy to determine which itemes appear in the cell for a date. And to be able to select which items appear in a popup div when the subject is moused over. For instance if I just want to display the subject then the subject would appear in the cell and mousing over the subject would give me the start time, end time, comments, etc. This would be what the user has signified in code or the properties for the control.
