I am looking for someone to develop a component - ActiveX seems to be the best solution - to allow for users to record voice audio from their web browser, client-side (IE but if Firefox can also be supported, it would be much better). The audio, if possible, would be encoded in SWF (Flash) format but again, if not possible, MP3 would do. (Streaming format is important for me as I dont want the user to wait until the whole file is downloaded before playing the audio). Support for the usual playback, record, stop buttons should be in the UI. Once done, this audio is then automaticallly uploaded to the webserver, preferably using form POST or HTTP protocol so that no other component on server side would be needed except for a standard upload component like ASPUpload. Main use of this component is to make an easy way to upload voice content/comments on certain items we are selling on a website. Some features of the component would include: 1. Specifying the target URL to post to and any needed parameters 2. Specifying maximum length and/or size of recording 3. Auto-detection of needed peripherals for the recording (i.e. sound card, etc). i.e. if sound card is not present, component would show a warning message only. 4. Silence detection would be a good feature to have as audio would be mostly voice captures (not music or other types of audio). For a similar component, see: [login to view URL]
