Hello,
This project is about capturing the computer machine (tower and/or notebook) internal configuration information automatically.? All information that can be captured regarding the computer should be captured whether we use the data or not.? Like serial numbers of HDD, Qty of DIMS used, etc.
What we are looking at is as soon as we boot the machine a script (designed by you) will run and automatically capture the information of machine and save it in table.? We would also like to view the information on a screen with columns? which can be seen during boot up in SETUP screen.? This is not mandatory.
This is how we perceive the process should work.
1.? User plugs in power/network cable
2.? Boot up system to system program on intranet (DOS via PXE)
3.? On PXE menu, on selection is get/retrieve configuration details
4.? Ask user to put in a unique number (our SCANID)
5.? The program runs on the intranet (or loads on system) to get all details and save in a table with the unique number as the primary key (no duplicates)
6.? We would then use our system to pull the information and map it to the relevent fields in the main database.? We would be doing this part.?
That's about it.?
If you will have more questions let us know, we will respond quickly.?
?
Thanks.
