Create a small functionality extension to existing Classic ASP print shop application

This is an existing printshop web application written using Classic ASP and MSSQL 2000. It has a small POS interface that is used to scan print job cover sheets when they reach a certain processing station. It's a simple ASP page that accepts the barcode into an input text field, with pre-selected status associated with the station, and saves to the database. This functionality needs to be expanded to provide intelligent validation associated with the POS cover sheet scans. A block of logic needs to be added using the data from the current? job model view, and? the associated print job settings,? to be able to implement a set of configurable rules, something like? ? If [current job status]='Priting' and? [scan status]='Completed' THEN alert 'You missed the shipping station!' ? if [Cover option]='Front and back covers' and [scan staus]='Bulk copy' THEN alert 'Cannot process a complex job through bulk copy station!' The idea is to prevent station recording from taking place if certain validations are failing. The business rules? ? need to be configurable through the current printshop site administration interface (data driven) ## Deliverables Note that we are currently looking for long term application support/maintenance people for this application. If the experience is pleasant during this project, there will be a long term opportnity associated with maintenance, enhancements and support for the application.
