ActiveX and Mozilla Plugin (XPI)

The purpose of this project is to aid the buyer in porting their existing ActiveX application to a Mozilla/Firefox plugin. It consists of two distinct parts: a sample ActiveX control and a sample Mozilla plugin. The coder will be required to implement both an ActiveX control and a Mozilla plugin for the Win32 platform. The control and the plugin are extremely simple: Display a few lines of text passed in as parameters (preferably in a HTML tag). Ideally, the coder will implement a single class that handles the actual work done by the control / plugin ??" the rendering of text in this case. The coder will then implement an ActiveX control that takes this code and makes it available for Internet Explorer. The coder will also implement a Mozilla plugin that will use this same code that makes it available for Mozilla and Firefox. The coder will also be required to present a set of tools (and / or batch files) with documentation that will package the Mozilla and Firefox plugin into an XPI file that allows one-click installation under the aforementioned Gecko-based browsers. Documentation on how to digitally sign the XPI file, if applicable, will also be required. Development tools to be used: Microsoft Visual Studio 2002 or newer Language to be used: C++ without MFC Extensive documentation and well-structured and well-commented source code are a must due to the nature of the project. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform ActiveX Control: Internet Explorer 5.5 or newer Plugin: Mozilla 1.6 or newer and Firefox 0.9 or newer Operating System: Windows 2000 or newer
