Hi, We have a C++ program that downloads, parses and does simple processing of HTML files. Currently it is compiled as a Windows DLL. Your job would be: 1. To adapt it for running on Linux, including adding a monitoring feature, so that another process running on the same machine can get the current status of the downloading/parsing/processing operation. 2. Optimize performance and fix any bugs that may be in the code. One specific processing feature, although very simple, is already known to be broken. 3. Add some extra features, but these we'll discuss after the above two are completed, and will be paid for by bonus, or another separate private job. The main code itself is only about 500 lines (including many comments) but the job may be challenging as it involves multiple threads. Before we can send you the code, you will need to sign an NDA. After you submit your bid, if it is within our criteria, we will send you the form. Then, after you review the code, we'll give you a chance to change your bid before accepting it. We prefer coders who have no serious commitments such as a day job or multiple active projects. We would like you to work on this almost exclusively in order to finish it very quickly. Although I set the project type to $100 or less, I'm not sure about the exact amount of work it would take, so higher bids will not be rejected. Thanks for bidding. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete AND WELL DOCUMENTED source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform C++, Windows, Linux
