Using Apple's vDSP library/framework, I need a utility routine written that will perform a FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) on an input array of floats (from an audio signal), then compute the average power level of the individual frequencies, and return these values in another array of floats. I would also like the ability to set a certain variable "smoothing amount" on the averaging of the power levels. Needs to have clean, fast and accurate results for real-time visualization purposes. Needs to have fully commented code, so I can understand it. Due to my lack of background in this area, I have been getting unsatisfactory results with my own attempts at writing this code. CODER must be willing to work closely with my requests to make alterations in fine-tuning the code to my satisfaction. The input signal is comprised of an array of 1024, 32-bit float real numbers from an audio signal, with values in the range of -1.0 to 1.0. Windowing and/or "zero-padding" will probably be needed to successfully filter the signal. Routine needs to return an array of 1024, 32-bit floats representing the average power levels of the individual frequencies, with values linearly interpreted, from 0.00000 - 1.00000. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows? (depending on the nature? of the deliverables): a)? For web sites or? other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software? installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform Compatibility with Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger and above.
