AppleScript Wizard Wanted! I have written a sample AppleScript which already communicates with IE, FireFox, Safari, and Opera web browsers to fetch their URL using tell application, etc. Really just interested in a script that runs on OS X; if it runs on more, that's a bonus, but not looking to pay extra for it. I need a professional AppleScripter to help make it a bit more professional and to correct a few problems with it: - the script needs to able to run okay if some of the applications are not present - for example, if the Opera application is not present on a particular Mac, then tell application "Opera" will not compile properly. I think creatorTypes might need to be used. I tried using "using terms from" and tell application someVarName but I am not an expert in this area. - It sometimes launches an application if the application is running but not launched - the application might need to be queried to see if it running or launched or not. - The final script, when run, should talk to the frontmost application, and if it is a supported web browser, obtain/print the URL. If it is not a web browser, do not print anything. - Maybe other advice/refactoring when you see my script. I believe you will discover that most of the "hard part" is done. I think that if you are an experienced Mac programmer who understands how things are done on the Mac, and have experience coding AppleScript, you will find it easy. I'm prepared to be realistic about bonuses and extra money for extra work; will do all such bonuses via rentacoder. I also have two follow-on AppleScript tasks which you are welcome to bid on after this is complete: one is along similar lines, and the other involves scripting mail applications on the Mac. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). I can accept a completed, tested AppleScript. ## Platform Mac OS X
