Real-time inventory application written in clipper residing behind a firwall. I want the MySQL database behind my hosted website to reflect updated inventory levels in real-time. Inventory application is on a win98 machine, but the .DBF and .NTX files can be put onto a more robust machine. Application and machine are located at our warehouse and are updated as orders come in. Updates might happen every minute, or once in five hours, it's variable. Website is hosted and I am currently running MySQL and the website is built in php. When the inventory level for a product changes in my warehouse, I want my website to reflect that change in real-time or near real-time. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). * * *This broadcast message was sent to all bidders on Sunday Jul 31, 2005 11:29:42 AM: Answers to some of your questions regarding the project: Q: is it the machine .dbf behind firewall, if not is it have ip public A: The machine with the .DBF files is behind a firewall. We have a static IP and we use network address translation (NAT) for other, unrelated services on our network Q: Also, are the design specs ready? What is the deadline? A: There are no design specs. The deadline is 2 weeks Q: if you can provide me the structures of the mySQL database and the clipper database A: I will provide all database structures. Q: Will you provide me access to your webserver to test the application or I will use mine. In latter case you have to give me a copy of your MySQL database or a structure diagram of it. A: Our MySQL database is on a hosted server. I will create user IDs allowing access to it for the developer. Q: Which firewall y ou use. A: We use a D-Link hardware firewall. Q: Does your current inventory Application opens the database exclusively. If it does you may note that when a database is opened exclusively another application can't use it. In that case you have to close your inventory application before updation. A: I do not know if it uses the database exclusively. Can you tell me how to determine this? Q: Is only Inventory level to be updated or extra information such as Price and shipping cost is to be updated too. A: Only the inventory level is to be updated. Each product has a unique ID which is 7 digits, for example 5075971. We have currently 2000 unique products. * * *This broadcast message was sent to all bidders on Monday Aug 1, 2005 11:47:14 AM: Providing access to the inventory application will be difficult if not impossible. I'm afraid we will not be able to implement any solution that requires modifiying the code in the inventory application. I am not certain if the .DBF files are used exclusively by the inventory application. I do not believe they are, however, if someone can suggest how to confirm this, I will confirm that two applications can "use" the .DBF file simultaneously. The manufacturer of our system gave me a windows .DLL that supposedly will allow an ASP page or other windows application/script to retrieve the latest inventory levels from a .NTX file located in the same directory as the .DBF file. However, the manufacturer gave me no documentation on how to implement the .DLL. I do not have any knowledge of the functions and subroutines, the arguments they take, or the results and data types they pass back. Do these new facts give you ideas or any information? * * *This broadcast message was sent to all bidders on Tuesday Aug 2, 2005 4:37:54 PM: I have uploaded a zip file containing a .dll the manufacturer of our system produced for us. (Two other .dlls are required and are included). Also included is an .exe for testing the .dll as well as a script, [login to view URL], to illustrate some of the functions. None of these are functional without the .DBF files. There is no documentation for any of these .dlls. However, they were developed by the manufacturer to query the the .DBF files/inventory application and retrieve the latest inventory levels. If it will help you better understand our system and the requirments of the project please take a look. Also, if anyone can understand how to implement the 'reservation' function included in the .exe (and the .dll), we would be interested in expanding the project to include that as well and we would entertain revised bids. ## Platform win 98 unix MySQL
