vTask Studio is a simple program that allows you to write "scripts" that move the mouse, click, read text, compare parts of the screen, etc.. VNCRobot is a similar program. An alternate solution may also be proposed.
What I need is someone to create 5 different scripts to test applications as a normal person might use them. Each script should be crafted to be flexible and repeatable.
1- Open Microsoft Word by clicking on the start menu and using the image location to find word and open it. Work through creating a sample document, apply formats, spell check, open an image and insert it, etc.. save the document, close word.
2- Open Firefox, login to YouTube, select some video files, play them, copy the url of a video. Open Outlook, click on new message, send paste the url to a test address and send it.
3- Open Microsoft Paint, maximize it, draw a happy face, copy it to the clipboard. Save the file. Close Paint. Re-Open Paint, open the saved file, change it, and paste the old image. Close paint.
4- Open Internet Explorer, login to facebook, upload an image (such as the one done in paint) and close Internet Explorer.
5- Open excel, create a spreadsheet, column styles, formats, etc.. Save it. Load Word, embed the spreadsheet into a word document and then close word.
