I am in need of a developer who understands how to program a database front end to a hardware controlled storage facility. Simply put I am looking for something VERY similar to what KDS offers in their CD-ROM Organizer. This is a USB controlled Hardware apparatus for the storage and retrieval of CD-ROMS(DVD etc) in a large jukebox type of hardware device. <[login to view URL]> My needs are almost identical. The apparatus is at a stage where I would prefer NOT to disclose any more info on the design, but would ask you to bid on the job of creating the software necesssary to mechanically control a hardware apparatus that stores items and an associated database which would allow an end user to retrieve something stored in a specific location of said apparatus after it has been successfully stored. **ADDENDUM: added 4/14/2004 14:29:00 PM **Just to be clear, this is a Hardware apparatus that needs to be driven from a PC. The closest analogy would be a real Jukebox (old fashioned type) with an LCD screen. When old fashioned records are placed in the jukebox, the PC has to memorize the exact location of the platter. When a user selects the record to listen to from the front screen, the platter is actually ejected in a drop box in front of the user. (kinda like a vending machine). Another important feature is that in my scenario there are thousands of platters that will be input daily (remember, the jukebox/platter is only an example) which the computer has to log into recognizable slots. So this leads to another problem....how to successfully load thousands of platters daily without spending dozens of hours in the process. The answer is that the initial version of the machine will have the operator wearing a headset and utilizing speech recognition he will instruct the machine as to the unique number associated with each platter. In the next version of the apparatus the operator will literally dump a box of plattters into a hopper and the apparatus will spin sort them and use optical character recognotion to quickly sort them into bins. ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement). ## Platform Best Choice....but WIN preferred
