Title: Bootloader for 18F4620 microprocessor Equipment:
Etherstuff ET-1 hardware ??" PIC18F4620 microprocessor, RTL8019AS Ethernet interface, RJ-45 connector with magnetics, 24LC256 or 24LC512 IIC eeprom.
Compiler: CCS PIC-C
Details: Create small flash "boot-loader" application on a PIC 18F4620 using existing TCP/IP stack which will allow for loading application firmware (via an existing UDP-based protocol) onto the PIC over Ethernet connectivity. The new uploaded code will be stored temporarily in an on-board EEPROM. The uploaded code should be encrypted in some simple manner before sending. After the code is validated on the chip (for missing segments, errors, and encryption signature), it must be decrypted and copied into place on the device.
The Windows-based UDP uploader already exists (MSVC), but will need some minor modifications to support this new functionality.
